Hi guys!!!!
First off, OMO!!!
Whew! Life has been interesting. Good, but interesting you know. Like so many things are happening so fast!
I’ve just been reminded of Amos 9:13-15. It is what my life feels like, and it’s nice, but there’s something I’ve noticed. Seasons of blessings can be hard to notice, because you’re usually crying and dancing at the same time.
“Yes indeed, it won’t be long now.” GOD’s Decree. “Things are going to happen so fast your head will swim, one thing fast on the heels of the other. You won’t be able to keep up. Everything will be happening at once—and everywhere you look, blessings! Blessings like wine pouring off the mountains and hills. I’ll make everything right again for my people Israel: “They’ll rebuild their ruined cities. They’ll plant vineyards and drink good wine. They’ll work their gardens and eat fresh vegetables. And I’ll plant them, plant them on their own land. They’ll never again be uprooted from the land I’ve given them.” GOD, your God, says so. - Amos 9:13-15
Have you ever watched a potter spin clay? Isn’t that how life feels like sometimes? Like you’re spinning at a crazy fast speed, but somehow it’s not in your control, so you can’t stop the spin? I’ve found that in those seasons, God reminds me that He’s the one in control of the speed of the spin not me or anyone else, and that makes everything alright. It provides a shield, so anxiety, doubt, fear and all those other demons are unable to enter.
Anyway, this post is about my hotel review, but I just wanted to share a bit of what’s going on in my life with y’all like I promised.

So, the other day, like I told you guys Shade was in town, and she was staying at the Renaissance Istanbul Polat Bosphorus Hotel. We were working closely together, so I spent a night or two there with her, and decided to share the experience with you guys.

Renaissance is located in the Gayrettepe area of Besiktas, so it’s pretty central. It’s also less than 10 minutes away from Zorlu, bar city or rush hour traffic. Right in the city center of Istanbul where everything kinda happens, it’s a really good location if you’re coming to the city to conduct business, or even just in town to explore the city. Besiktas has all the best little spots too.
Since we were working, I didn’t really have time to explore everything the hotel has to offer, but I’ll show you guys the basic areas I spent some time in.

You immediately walk into the lobby, after you walk past the baggage check area, and the reception is right at the corner, with 4 separate desks, and a handful of receptionists and porters to help you check into your room with as little hassle as possible.
![](https://static.wixstatic.com/media/54c8ce_7110dfd832f2499c92c7c0ac9c69e3cb~mv2.jpg/v1/fill/w_980,h_1307,al_c,q_85,usm_0.66_1.00_0.01,enc_auto/54c8ce_7110dfd832f2499c92c7c0ac9c69e3cb~mv2.jpg)
A simple bench, flowerpot, high ceilings, empty shelves, a balcony with glass rails and an interesting chandelier made from what seems to be balloons make for a simple, clean and elegant reception area.
The elevator area leading up to the rooms is right in front of the automatic sliding doors, and the rest of the lobby area is on the other side.

The lounge section of the lobby is spacious, beautiful and well decorated. Several seats are available for you to enjoy a drink, or meet with a friend or even a business partner.

There are several shelves littered with books, and decor, and there’s also a bar you can order drinks from. Two staircases, one going up and down are on opposite sides of the lounge area, and they lead to other areas of the hotel that I haven’t explored yet. There’s also a terrace area that I only got a chance to see from afar.

Room 1110, which was one of the rooms we stayed in opens directly into a little corridor with the bathroom, and closets on one side of it, and a simple rectangular mirror with absolutely no frills on the wall on the other side. You might enjoy this mirror if you’re a fashion girl in the city. The closet space had an ironing board, iron, a rack, and a safe.

The bathroom is designed so the WC and the shower are on opposite ends of each other with the mirror, washbasin and shelves in the middle.

I quite liked the bathroom, because it had this glass door area that opened out into the bedroom, separate from the other bathroom door, so you could chat with your friend or companion while taking a shower. Thats my PG13 reason at least. I also loved that the toilet area had a phone you could call the hotel staff with while using the toilet. It’s a weird little thing I like.

The room feels like a standard hotel room, that’s only a little cramped, but not quite. If you’re a little messy, you’ll probably end up making a mess. It also doesn’t have any of that homely feel you might get at a boutique hotel. There’s some art littered around the room though, and it’s a nice touch.

The corridor opens up into the little office nook that doubles as the mini bar, TV wall, and the bedroom area. The fridge is fully stocked, but its locked, and you have to call hotel staff to unlock it for you. However there are accessible snacks on the table that you can eat and drink if you need some.

The room is sparsely decorated with a standard sized bed, an accent chair, and a side stool. It didnt have floor to ceiling windows, but it had a pretty large window, so you could see a view of the city. It was snowing when we were there, so it was beautiful to watch the snow flakes fall.

Overall it was a very comfortable stay. Especially for the roughly $115 price point. The bed was comfortable, the ambiance was decent, and I enjoyed my stay.
If you’re ever in the city, and you need a not expensive, but decent still hotel, you should definitely consider staying at Renaissance Istanbul Polat Bosphorus hotel, and if you do, let me know how you found my recommendation.
