Come With Me; Travel Edition: Çeşme Day 3 - The Beach of Momo

Hi Guys!

So on day 3 we went to the Beach of Momo!!!!! Haha you guys will love this one. So far it's been my favorite trip of the entire holiday. The views, the water, the vibe - everything about the Beach of Momo is special.

We left for the beach later than you normally would go to the beach - at 4pm, and we took a taxi from our hotel that cost about 80-100TL. The ride was about 20 minutes long, but it didn't feel as long.

We were asked if we made a reservation at the entrance, but they let us in even though we didn't, because we were a small party of 3, and we could have sat at the bar, so if you're visiting, be sure to send them a DM on Instagram - @momodalyan to book a reservation.

The entrance to the beach has a few shops where you can buy things like swimsuits, beach clothing and paraphernalia if you'd like.

When you walk in, you're not immediately met with the stretch of sand that makes the Beach of Momo a beach. You're met with the restaurant sitting area where you can have lunch or dinner. My friends had the pasta, and glasses of wine. They quite liked the food. I found the food pricey, and was on a budget, so I didn't order anything. The pasta was decent tho.

The beach of Momo has a fascinating wooden decor theme, with artsy wooden stools, benches and decor everywhere. There are also cute cactus plants around and about. There's this particular bench by the shore where you can get perfect photos when it's golden hour. With a lot of contorting and angle management of course. LOL!

I loved the vibe of the entire place. It had a hippie feel to it. Just after the restaurant is the bar area which is a wooden structure with a thatch roof, and lovely woven lanterns hanging from the ceiling, and massive loudspeakers hung on the wooden posts. The bar itself is a large rectangular wooden structure with several wooden outdoor lounge sofas and stools surrounding it. You can't particularly sit around the bar as there are no bar stools, but I believe you can get one of the sofas/tables if you make a reservation.

The wooden structure housing the bar also had this really pretty dream catcher hanging from it. It's one of the things the Beach of Momo is famous for - its dreamcatcher, and apparently they changed it this year to a tree of life one. I don't particularly like anything that seems mythical or superstitious, and I only just found out what a dreamcatcher is, and what it's supposedly used for today during my research for this post. Before now I thought it was just pretty decor.

Anyway there are several beach beds at the beach of Momo. We didn't make a reservation, but we found some to use while we were there. The view of the beach with all of the beach beds and umbrellas is so pretty. I don't know if pictures truly capture it's beauty. The stretch of sand at the beach of Momo isn't a lot, but it doesn't subtract from it's beauty at all.

I think the best part of the beach of Momo is the sunset and the way the beach catches it. The beach is designed to directly face the sunset, and so it makes it all so gorgeous at golden hour, and even more gorgeous at dusk.

The owners/managers of the beach recognise this, so they created an iconic photo spot for their visitors (mainly tourists) to create lifetime memories. Even in the pandemic, there was still a queue to take photos here.

If you're a party goer, you'll definitely love it at the beach of Momo. I'm not a party person, at least not anymore, but I did enjoy it. I think it made for a nice beach day. The music was nice, the people were so lovely - very warm and friendly. I met so many people and made a number of new friends here, including this lovely lady that took photos of my friend and I, because she thought we were so gorgeous. I also reconnected with a lovely young man I met at Beymen once months ago, and it was the funniest, cutest thing. Maybe I'll tell that story someday.

All in all, I had a wonderful time at the beach of Momo. At the time I started writing this post, it was my favorite day of my holiday. However I went on many more adventures as you'll see in coming posts. You should definitely add it to your list of places to visit whenever you're in Cesme. You definitely will not regret it.

Look out for the vlog for videos later, and subscribe to be the first to read my post on our trip to the Ancient City of Ephesus. If you're a history geek, you'll definitely love that one.

Until then I'll leave you with a little snippet.

Love, Yoma.
