Hi guys!

So I’m currently on holiday in Çeşme, Turkey with my girlfriends, and I’ve decided to take you guys along with me. It’s a whole 10 day holiday with two more destinations coming up, and it’s chock full of activity, so there’ll be a lot of content on the blog this week. Who’s excited? Haha!

We decided to start out in Çeşme and then take a road trip to Fethiye and Bodrum. Çeşme, a resort town is a top holiday destination for a lot of Turkish residents, because it’s located in the coastal city of Izmir with beautiful beaches and restaurants and beach clubs.

We got one way economy tickets for 212TL from Istanbul, and made it to the airport. Not early enough though, so we had to catch the next flight on the same day after paying an extra 103TL. Thankfully there were two flights leaving to Izmir from Istanbul by Turkish Airlines.

The flight lasted about an hour, and after clearing our baggage we got a taxi from the airport to our hotel in Alaçatı, Çeşme for 401TL. Alaçatı, Çeşme is a bit of a distance from the airport in Izmir where flights land as there’s no airport in Çeşme itself, so the taxi fare was a little exorbitant. If you're on a budget, I'll recommend catching the shuttle. It's cheaper.

Our hotel is a gorgeous boutique hotel with white brick walls, called Alaçatı Sörf otel. Located 0.5 miles from the city center.

Alaçatı Sörf is a very lovely homey boutique hotel. The entrance is covered in beautiful flowers with a lovely wooden gate reminiscent of a white picket fence.

When you get in, there’s a walkway right in front of you that leads to the reception behind the main building. It’s lined with trees that give shade from the hot Turkish summer sun. The reception a simple white room with glass doors, is right beside the kitchen and laundry room.

On the right to the entrance lies a beautiful garden with a lush green lawn, lovely flowers, and young trees.

The main building - a duplex has rooms upstairs that open up into a lovely terrace balcony, and downstairs with a patio that opens out into the garden.

It also has a lovely outdoor seating area that doubles as the restaurant and eating area.

Alaçatı Sörf has a very cozy and homey feel to it. It’s intention is to make you feel at home away from home. Breakfast - a decadent Turkish Breakfast is served between 9am - 11am, and is free. I thoroughly enjoy it, because it has a very rich and enjoyable feel to it, with it’s extremely delicious homemade fruit preserves, cheesy omelette, Turkish cheese, decadent butter, olives, tomato and cucumber salad, soft fresh bread, sucuk and simit.

We’re only spending 4 days in Çeşme, so my friends and I decided to check out the Kafe Pi Beach Club/Rakish restaurant on our first night. I couldn't get photos that do it justice, but you should definitely visit if you find yourself in the area.

A gorgeous beach club/restaurant with naked bulbs strewn all over, and beautiful woven lanterns hanging from a cane and raffia roof, Rakish is magical at night. It is set on the beach itself, so you can feel the sand in your toes while you eat dinner or dance to the loud music booming from its speakers.

The music at Cafe Pi Beach Club is predominantly Turkish upbeat dance music, but occasionally they played some English songs too. Nothing very current, but it was all good enough to get your dancing shoes on.

They seemed to have an extensive cocktail menu, but we only had 3 options offered to us for food. Meatballs, Fillet Steak, and Fish. I ordered the fillet steak, and the wait time wasn't anything ridiculous. The steak was so tender I only realized I hadn't been given a steak knife when I was about to eat the last bite. It needed some salt and pepper, and there was none on the table. The spinach was the best thing on my plate. It was seasoned so beautifully, and perfectly complimented the bland baked potatoes the food came with. My friend ordered fish, and I had some of that. It was so great I immediately wished I ordered it instead. Crispy on the outside, and flaky on the inside. The tanginess of the lemon was the most distinguishable taste, but it wasn't so overwhelming that it overpowered the seasoning the fish was cooked in. The waiter recommended the Scarlet cocktail, but it had a syrupy taste, and really wasn't my cup of tea.

Rakish is really close to the water, and right by one of the little pools surrounding it is a beautiful photo spot complete with a mirror where you can take photos of yourself. Perfect for daytime photos, but also lit with LED lights for late night visitors.

It gets really cold at night, so they provide woolen blankets for guests who request for them. I asked for some, and got really comfortable on the lounge chair we were seated. And I mean really comfortable. LOL! In a few minutes I was asleep, because I'm not really a night time activity babe. At least not anymore.

I had a good time at Rakish, and my friends who came to party said they had an even better time with the locals. They danced for hours, and I enjoyed watching them until I slept off. My friends woke me up, the staff called me a taxi, and I retired to our hotel for the night, while my friends visited another fun beach club.

If you do visit, please let me know! See you in my next post with details on my trip to the Aya Yorgi Beach.

Love, Yoma.
